Marissa Massimini

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist 148579

Hello, I am Marissa. I have a deep passion for supporting couples and individuals in building stronger and more fulfilling relationships. I understand the courage it takes to seek support, and I honor that trust by creating a safe and empowering environment for my clients.

My work focuses on helping couples and individuals uncover their emotional needs, navigate relationship challenges, and rediscover connection. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique dynamic, supporting them in developing emotional safety, emotional and sexual intimacy, and meaningful communication as they move toward greater fulfillment in their relationships and in their lives. I especially enjoy working with married couples who are overcoming long-standing patterns of conflict, as well as couples in newer relationships who are seeking premarital counseling.

In addition to relationship counseling, I provide therapy for those seeking support with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is grounded in cultural sensitivity, and I offer a welcoming space for individuals and couples of all faiths, genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. I also bring long-term personal and professional experience working with military families, and I am passionate about helping military and veteran couples build connection and satisfaction while facing the unique challenges of military life.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with couples, individuals, and families in a range of settings, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs. My greatest passion is helping people strengthen the relationships they have with themselves and with others.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy connecting with nature on long walks, making new memories with my fiancé and loved ones, and exploring the many wonderful coffee shops throughout beautiful San Diego County.
