Hello, I am Cristina Trette. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Owner of Integrative Couples Therapy. I specialize in helping couples strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and rekindle intimacy.
Many of the couples I work with come to therapy during pivotal moments in their relationship. Many are struggling with long standing patterns of conflict and loss of sexual connection. Some are recovering from the disclosure of infidelity or navigating the aftermath of betrayal. My approach is both compassionate and direct. I help partners slow down, understand the patterns that drive disconnection, and learn how to turn toward one another with openness and honesty. Together, we work to rebuild trust, restore intimacy, and create a love relationship that thrives.
I have a special interest in working with entrepreneurs and other high performing couples who are balancing demanding professional lives with the desire for connected relationships and fulfilling family lives. My clinical perspective integrates Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) with insights from interpersonal neurobiology and mindfulness. I believe that when individuals and couples feel emotionally safe and connected, they naturally move toward growth, eroticism, joy, and purpose. As a mother of three, I am continually inspired by the courage it takes to nurture both family and career, and appreciate walking alongside other parents in that process.
In addition to my therapy practice, I am committed to supporting therapists and building spaces that encourage collaboration, learning, and wellbeing. I have served on the Board of the San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy since 2017, contributing to local community building efforts for EFT clinicians. I am also the Founder of Seremar Center, a community hub and collective of therapists and facilitators.
Before becoming a marriage and family therapist, I worked in education and holistic health, experiences that continue to shape my integrative approach to therapy. When I am not with clients or leading Integrative Couples Therapy, you will often find me outdoors running, hiking, or enjoying the ocean. I also love yoga, reading, and spending time with my life partner and our children, who continually remind me that love and connection are at the heart of what matters most.
