I am Cristina Trette, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Owner of Integrative Couples Therapy. I help couples strengthen their relationship, communicate clearly, rekindle intimacy, and deepen their bond.
Although I work with all couples, I have a particular focus on helping couples in crisis, those navigating the aftermath of infidelity, and those standing at the edge of separation or divorce. I offer a supportive yet direct approach that can help you repair trust, reconnect, and make clear, thoughtful choices about your future. Many of my clients are professionals, entrepreneurs, family business owners, and high performers seeking balance among demanding careers, marriage, and family life.
As a mother to three, I am grateful and humbled to work with parents, which is another area of speciality for me. I have a background in family therapy, parenting support, and parent-child mental health. My training includes Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, Certification in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, The Baffling Behavior Institute’s Professional Immersion Program, and registration as a Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behavior Course Facilitator. I am also a Certified Co-Parenting Specialist through Christina McGhee’s program, which equips me to help coparents work together in the best interest of their children.
My clinical background includes advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), with additional training in betrayal, infidelity, trauma, and sex therapy. I hold a Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Diego, and I am currently pursuing certification in EFCT. For the past six years, I have also served on the Board of the San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy.

I am currently training in discernment counseling to better support couples who feel uncertain about whether to stay together or part ways.
Outside of my work, I find joy in movement and nature including running, yoga, hiking, and surfing. Most of all, I love spending time with my life partner and our five children, who continually remind me of the importance of love and connection in everyday life.
