Integrative Couples Therapy, based in Encinitas, California, is seeking an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping couples and families heal and strengthen relationships. This is the perfect position for an associate therapist wanting to work in a serene private practice, receive training and supervision in couples therapy, and develop the skills needed to build and sustain a private pay caseload. This is a part time W2 office-based position in Encinitas, California with no benefits.

Minimum Requirements:
Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or related program of study.
Current Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Registration as a Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. We are only considering applicants with an active licenses/registrations in good standing.
Experience conducting couples therapy.
Able to work at our Encinitas office when couples are available, generally afternoons and evenings, starting at least two days per week, with the goal of seeing 5 to 6 clients per day, and the ability to add days as your caseload builds.
1.5 to 2 years of clinical experience, including practicum/internship.
Completion of the Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy Externship.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience and/or training in parenting support and family therapy.
This position is a good fit for you if:
You see yourself as a couples therapist and have a strong desire to immerse in couples therapy.
You have less than 1500 hours completed toward licensure.
You are able to work at our Encinitas office at least two days per week, including afternoons or evenings, and can add days and hours as your caseload builds.
Have a go-getter attitude and desire to build professional relationships in the community. You enjoy networking, outreach, and marketing. You will willingly adhere to the marketing and advertising guidelines set forth by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and Integrative Couples Therapy.
You are seeking a part time private practice position with room for growth.
You do not own a coaching practice and do not have plans to start one for at least two years. You do not intend to work at another private practice within the next two years.
These qualities and goals help ensure a strong long-term fit with our team, are in alignment with our vision and values, and enable us to invest fully in your growth, training, and development within the practice.
This position is not a good fit for you if:
You see yourself as an individual therapist and want to try couples therapy to see if you like it. Or you want to engage in couples therapy solely to obtain the relational hours needed for your license.
You are near the end of your AMFT hours.
You are seeking a virtual or hybrid position.
You are seeking a full time position, pay, and benefits.
You are not looking for a position that requires some marketing, outreach, or networking activities. Or, you want to be able to engage in marketing efforts without following the advertising guidelines set forth by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and Integrative Couples Therapy.
You own a coaching practice or have plans to start one within the next two years. You intend to work at another private practice within the next two years.
