We Specialize in Relationships

Helping couples, families, and individuals heal and grow in their relationships is at the heart of our practice and what we do every day. We are equipped to support both the common challenges of relationships—such as communication, conflict, and intimacy—and the more significant struggles that relationships sometimes face, including betrayal, recurring escalated arguments, or separation or divorce.

We Support the Whole Couple, Person, and Family

While we specialize in relationships, we know that relational struggles often open the door to deeper healing. Sometimes what arises is anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, substance use, or parenting stress. For this reason, we offer therapy for couples, individuals, and families, groups, and workshops. With an integrative team, this provides the possibility of in-house support in the areas that you need. As Marriage and Family Therapists, we emphasize a relational and family systems approach to mental health and wellbeing.

We Use Research-Based Methods

All of our therapists are trained in attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of the most researched and effective approaches to therapy. EFT gives us a clear map for helping couples, families, and individuals move out of disconnection and into trust, closeness, and connection. We continually train and engage in ongoing consultation to stay up to date with the current approaches in therapy.

Relationships can be complicated, and it helps to have a guide who can see what is happening and point the way forward. We will identify the patterns that keep you stuck, directly address interactions and behaviors that lead to problems, serve as a guide for your inner world, and offer practical guidance to create new ways of engaging in relationships, family, and life. At the same time, your choices, questions, and feedback are always honored and respected. We wholeheartedly believe that positive change can occur when you are understood and accepted, particularly when facing struggles. We aim to partner with you and will help you make the changes you want to make.

One of the unique benefits of working with a small boutique practice is the personal touch we are able to offer. While we are therapists, we are also people living in San Diego with our own relationships and families. We understand how painful disconnection and emotional distress can be, and we are deeply committed to helping you cultivate relationships and wellbeing that truly flourish.
