We Specialize in Couples and Relationships
Helping couples and individuals heal and grow in romantic relationships is at the heart of our practice and what we do every day. We are equipped to support both the common challenges of relationships—such as communication, conflict, and intimacy—and the significant struggles that relationships sometimes face, including infidelity, betrayal, high conflict, or divorce.
We Offer A Holistic Approach
While we specialize in relationships, we know that relational struggles often open the door to further healing. Sometimes what arises in session is anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, substance use, or a need for parenting support. With an integrative team, this provides the possibility of in-house therapy in the areas that you need or referrals to trusted professionals in our community. As Marriage and Family Therapists, we emphasize a relational and family systems approach to mental health and wellbeing.
We Use Research-Based Methods
We are trained in attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of the most researched and effective approaches to relationship therapy. EFT gives us a clear map for helping couples and individuals move out of disconnection and into trust, closeness, and connection. We continually train and engage in ongoing consultation to stay up to date with the current approaches in therapy.
We Are Relational
Although we engage in rigorous clinical training, we come to every session with a strong belief that our relationship with you, is the most important element for change. We bring our full, human selves to the process. Our approach is warm, down to earth, and relational. We do not believe in being distant or overly clinical. Instead, we show up with presence and authenticity. Our goal is for our clients to feel understood, and deeply supported, as they navigate the emotions and experiences that shape their relationships.
We Are Direct and Compassionate
Relationships can be complicated and it can be hard to see patterns when you are caught in them. It helps to have a guide who can see what is happening and point the way forward. We will identify the cycles that keep you stuck, directly address challenges, and offer practical guidance. At the same time, your choices, questions, and feedback are always honored and respected. We wholeheartedly believe that positive transformation can occur when you are understood and accepted, particularly when facing difficulties. We aim to partner with you and will help you cultivate the love and life you desire.
We Really Care
One of the unique benefits of working with a small boutique practice is the personal touch we are able to offer. While we are therapists, we are also people living in San Diego with our own relationships and families. We understand how painful relationship distress can be, and we are deeply committed to helping you flourish. Just as we support our clients, we do our own inner work and remain dedicated to ongoing relational, personal and professional growth.
